Thomas R. Houlihan
Attorney
Thomas R. Houlihan Granted Certification As A Certified Computer
Examiner
The law firm of Amer Cunningham Co., L.P.A. is
pleased to announce Thomas R. Houlihan has been granted the Certified
Computer Examiner (CCE) certification. The CCE certification is
administered by the International Society of Forensic Computer
Examiners, a body which reviews the training and skill of computer
examiners, and administers a multi-part practical test.
The CCE certification means that Mr. Houlihan has demonstrated
his understanding of the forensic process of extraction of data from a
variety of electronic and computer devices using sound, repeatable and
testable methods.
Mr. Houlihan is one of
less than 900 persons worldwide to obtain this certification, and one
of only a handful of attorneys nationwide.
Because Mr. Houlihan is also an attorney, he is uniquely able
to evaluate and administer not only the forensic extraction of
electronic evidence but also its ultimate admissibility and utility in
court proceedings.
“Understanding how a
computer utilizes, stores, and retrieves data is valuable for a
variety of purposes, and is becoming an issue in more and more
litigation. Common questions are arising in court proceedings concerning
the validation of e-mails, chat logs, images and other documents found
on computers,” remarked Mr. Houlihan.
“I got the training and did the testing because I had to
develop a base-level understanding of these matters to be effective in
my own practice.”
“Now that Mr.
Houlihan has obtained this specialized certification in computer
forensics, it propels him to a unique level in the legal field,”
states Mr. Jack Morrison, Jr., President of Amer Cunningham Co., LPA.
“We are pleased he is certified and available to consult with
judges, lawyers, and law firms in the area of e-discovery and computer
forensics,” added Mr. Morrison.
The law firm of Amer Cunningham Co., L.P.A.
